Retriever Training:
Basic Gun Dog:
This 4 to 5 month training programs takes your retriever through our advanced obedience program,
forced fetch, and field work. Your retriever will be steady to shot, deliver to hand, mark off a gun barrel, and retrieve single
marks at distances up to 75 yards on land and in water. The basic gun dog should be able to pass and obtain a Started Hunting
Retriever (SHR) title.
Intermediate Gun Dog:
This 7 to 9 month program includes the advanced obedience program, basic gun dog,
and introduces the dog to the use of hand signals. Dogs at this level can easily retrieve double marks and run blind retrieves
out to distances of 75 yards. Sit to flush and diversion birds are also taught at this level. The intermediate gun dog
should be able to pass and obtain a Seasoned Hunting Retriever (HR) title.
Advanced Gun Dog:
This 12 month program includes the
advanced obedience and both the basic and intermediate gun dog programs and puts the finishing touches on your retriever. This
includes tripple marks, honoring another dog, and blind retrieves out to 100 yards. These dogs can handle most any hunting situation
and are capable of passing and obtaining a Hunting Retriever Champion (HRCH) title.
